I must have been only five or six (my parents stopped bothering with raising chickens around that time.)

Most contemporary people cannot even imagine. I remember my brother pulling on the tendon, making the foot contract. We all thought it was hilarious. Seeing blood and gore was perfectly natural for someone who grew up on a farm forty or fifty years ago. People now may be appalled, but they keep right on munching their fried chicken nuggets without a thought of where they came from.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3936976925449679441.post-18792148201370504972010-05-15T21:18:26.377-03:002010-05-15T21:18:26.377-03:00You forgot to mention the time at the demolition r...You forgot to mention the time at the demolition race in the gravelpit when Douglas was driving a wreck and had buckets of the chicken heads and feet on board. He threw them like prizes to the bystanders.....We certainly were a crazy crowd...no wonder everybody knows of us !!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3936976925449679441.post-38158685566612957422010-05-15T20:05:11.812-03:002010-05-15T20:05:11.812-03:00Hey Sally and Mark

I MUST find you the the Tomi DePaola (children's author) book that is about the outrageous fun one can have with a chicken foot...with painted claws!....at school.....as you might predict: the adults failed to see the humour.
You are way ahead of me on the garden. My 'hill' is now flat thanks to the work of Em and her man, and I have the seeds. AND the bugs are now out in full force...so I MUST be ready.
Keep up the entertaining entries.Aprilnoreply@blogger.com
